Have you ever created something and wondered why you didn't think of it earlier? This is that dish for me! It's incredibly simple but oh soooooooo delicious! It has everything you are looking for in a wonderful bite of food! It's crispy, savory, spicy, creamy, salty deliciousness! Give it a try and I'm certain you will agree!
1C Panko bread crumbs
1/2t Granulated garlic
1T Kosher salt
1/4t Onion powder
1T Papa's Pepper premium spice blend
4 Egg yolks
Cream cheese toast or avocado toast for serving.
1. Combine all dry ingredients and mix well.
2. Pour 1/2C of panko mixture onto a medium sized flat bottom dish. A paper plate will even work. Using the back of a spoon make four "divots" in the panko. Very gently lay an egg yolk in each of the divots in the panko and gently use remaining bread crumbs to cover the tops of the egg yolk thoroughly.
3. Place panko crusted egg yolks in freezer for at least four hours or overnight.
4. Coat a medium fry pan with nonstick cooking spray oil such as canola. Add egg to frying pan over medium high heat and cook 2-3 minutes on each side until panko is crispy and egg center is soft and runny.
Serve on your favorite cream cheese toast, avocado toast or eat them as they are, they are delicious!
**Cooks note:
Do not use olive oil as it has a low smoking temperature. Use an oil with a very high smoking temperature like canola or peanut oil.
