Y'all, this sauce is it! Papa's Pepper Phire (fire) wing and drumstick sauce hits all the notes. It's a little tangy, a little sweet, a little savory and it definitely brings the heat! This will definitely up your wing game for the #superbowl !
1/2C Butter (1 stick)
4t Cornstarch
1& 1/2C Cayenne pepper sauce (Such as Frank's Red Hot)
1& 1/2T Lizanos Costa Rica Salsa (can use Worcestershire sauce if you can't find Lizanos)
3T Dark brown sugar
1/4t White pepper
3/4t Granulated garlic
1T Papa's Pepper premium spice blend (2t for milder sauce)
1t Onion powder
3/4t Smoked paprika
Salt/pepper to taste
Melt butter over medium heat, add cornstarch to make a loose roux and cook, whisking for 2-3 minutes. Add dry ingredients, cook another 1-2 minutes. Add Cayenne pepper sauce and Lizano Salsa and stir over medium heat while whisking until sauce thickens.
Sauce should have a thick nappè consistency so that it really layers on the chicken nicely! Serve with Ranch or Blue cheese and a few celery sticks.
